Up on Rampart, it’s a bit apart from the rest of the drinking holes of the French Quarter, which is probably what stops it from being ruined. It has a typical dive bar feel; a room of arcade games, pretty dingy walls and worn beige leather booths to crash on. The central bar is massive, making plenty of room for stools, which is what people who drink here want so they can shoot the sh*t across the bar. The drinks list is long, covering the whole gamut of classics with perhaps a dozen originals dotted about (each credited to their creator), and daily $5 specials. But the best thing about this place; it doesn’t just look like a dive bar, these cocktails have dive bar prices. Win.
