Dutch Kills

A killer cocktail saloon that's the brainchild of the legend behind Milk & Honey

On first arrival, Dutch Kills feels like a rough-round-the-edges bar for drinkers. We could’ve stepped back in time as we took in the sawdust on the floor, the old-timey cash register, and the wooden pianos. In fact, there’s wood everywhere. Bar, booths and walls - there’s definite traditional saloon vibes going on.

We’d love this bar for the welcoming, laid back atmosphere anyway, but it’s even more exciting when you learn that the owner was the late Sasha Petraske. He was the mixology genius behind legendary New York City cocktail bar Milk & Honey, as well as being involved in many of the world’s most beloved and impressive bars. When it comes to cocktail visionaries, Sasha’s name will live on forever.

The House Cocktails are not to be sniffed at, but BarChick’s here for the bespoke inventions.  A header on the menu reads: ‘Place your trust in us! We are qualified to satisfy.’ You better believe it. Tell them what you’re after, then watch them mix up some magic and serve with a serious rock of hand-hewn ice. Check out when the live pianist is going to be tinkling the ivories, and voila - old world ambience complete.
