You've surely already heard about PDT. It's that speakeasy bar with the secret entrance in an  East Village hot dog joint, that you access via a phone booth. Novelty entrance aside, this bar is about so much more! Firstly - it's owned by Jim Meehan the bartending legend, secondly - the drinks are incredible: classic cocktails and seasonal creations made with creativity and perfection, and thirdly - they serve deep-fried hot dogs. Score.

You won't be surprised to hear that these guys have racked up their fair share of awards since openings, including winning 50 Best Bars in the World in 2011. Once inside, you'll find PDT is a dark and cosy bar, with stag heads mounted on brick walls and comfy booths. Grab a bar stool, watch the expert barmen and order the signature Old Fashioned, made with bacon-infused bourbon and maple syrup. Snack from the menu at Crif Dogs next door, with hotdogs created by celebrity NYC chefs (like David Chang from Momofuku’s and his kimchi topped hot dawg!)

Make a reservation (lines open at 3pm, call +1 (212) 614 0386), this place is small and they have a no standing policy. If you can't get through, prepare to queue. PDT might mean Please Don't Tell, but you're gonna find that a tricky task after you've experienced such insane cocktail mastery.
