We all know and love BrewDog, and luckily for all those up North, Newcastle’s got one too. What used to be the old Tokyo Joe, has now stepped aside for a whole load of beer and a whole lotta fun. If you like beer more than Homer then you are going to love this place, because they’ve got the beer scene on lock down. There’s basically beer in everything, from the cocktails to the scran (that’s food to you and I), so you better hop to it.

If you’re not a beer drinker, to hell with it, get involved anyway, because if you ask nicely the sweet staff will slip you some wine or spirits – just don’t go shouting it from the rafters.

The crowd are pretty eclectic, from boys in skinny jeans, rock chicks and chicks in frocks to the woman celebrating her 60th by downing a 41% beer called Dogfight (hopefully there wasn’t a b*tch one after).

Get involved in the quirky events, when we were there we got invited to the Free Pussy Riot celebrating the Witches Sabbath, BarChick ain’t no witch but we went along anyway.
