T-shirt and jeans won't cut it here. Cash is king, and the guests have plenty of it - just check out the bottle of Jeroboam of Louis XIII on the back bar... BUCKS! On BarChick’s last visit we met a man who lived in the hotel and owned homes in 7 different countries, and next to us a lady surrounded by designer shopping bags with Chihuahuas in diamante collars and leopard skin jackets fighting under the table… standard.

Don't be fazed; it's still inviting. Like an elaborate library, there’s plush curtains, old classic art, and huge bookcases, with quiet jazzy piano playing softly. You'll get used to it very quickly.

The drinks are first class. We love the George Fizz, served with fresh strawberries & raspberries, orange juice, guava and champagne, and the bartenders are super friendly if you need to quiz them. Don't miss the floral display in the courtyard (this hotel spends €1million each year on their flowers) – checking those out is almost worth the €30 you’ll spend on each cocktail. Bargain... well almost.
