Founders Cathleen McGarry and Amaury Guyot have both done their time at Experimental Cocktail Club, so expect good things. The cocktail list rotates regularly and is superb. We literally ordered the entire menu (“one of each, please,”) and struggled to pick a favourite. The Pisco Ball (pisco, yuzu liqueur, orgeat syrup, lemon juice and vanilla bitters) was a major contender, but guaranteed next time it’ll be something else equally awesome. Cathleen may sound French, but just wait till she brings out the Irish accent. A serious whiskey drinker, ask her anything about their 56-strong list, and she won’t drop the ball. Geek out on a whisky flight if you’re keen. And try the food. The menu is small and light - tartines and foie gras kinda thing - but just enough to keep you ‘sponged and drinking’ as Cathleen says. The vibe is a bit like a house party in an NYC loft, where someone’s cool mate is a DJ, and everyone is somehow keeping it together.
