This miniscule Bohemian chill bar and restaurant is perched on the edge of the Santa Teresa Hills. Opened in 2005 by chef Natacha Fink, this arty, rustic hideaway serves up delicious Amazonian influenced food coupled with South American wines… awesome.
The small terrace has a slightly limited view of the city, but it’s secluded and well decorated with an easy going atmosphere, which totes makes up for it. Terracotta walls and a wooden beam covered in Deus (God) cards give this place an air of ethnicity.
Start the night with a Passion Fizz (gin fizz with passion fruit and lime) or an elaborate Cuia do Paje (aged cachaca, cupuacu juice, Malibu liqueur, guarana, ginseng) served in a traditional Amazonian Gourd, or carved wooden cup to you, mate.
The food here is good and includes some vegi dishes, which is rare in a country full of carnivorous hotties, try the ChuChu No XinXin, a mix of Brazilian squash, mixed veg with ginger, peanuts, cashews and fresh herbs, which is also a good way to kick the hangover, result.
