A bit of an all-round performer, Felice is an Italian Café, an après beach bar and a gelataria in one. You won’t need a map to find this one, it’s situated one block from Ipanema beach, opposite the 24 hour supermarket Zona Sul.

With its modern, simple interior and friendly atmosphere, Felice has a great reputation with the Cariocas as one of the best ice-cream joints in town.  You’ll wanna be here as the sun goes down, clutching your first Caipirinha of the night. The food here is bang-on too, try the bolinhos crocantes de camarao (prawn and sweet potato fish cakes) or the just the cheeseburger. For all the body conscious ladies out there, they do banging salads and a great soup of the day.

You cannot visit without trying the Frozen Felice, it’s sorbet with a shot of cachaça poured over it. It stole BarChick’s heart, a real game changer.
