With the only authentic American-style smoker in the country and a Texas rib-shack vibe, this place is properly into barbeque. Sitting inside the restaurant is a white-tiled bar with a white-brick backdrop. It ain’t big and it ain’t fancy but it is home to a rather refined cocktail list to go alongside the menu of super-succulent meat.
Twelve drinks, with a focus on the fresh and local, take centre stage. American grand dames, like the Aviation and Old Fashioned vie for the spotlight with more alluring young stars like the Michelado. There’s homemade ginger ale and pink lemonade for any designated drivers, and even a little rasher of bacon has snuck behind the bar to add some porky goodness to the BOS Bloody Mary.
Once a week an eight-piece jazz band pulls a good number of the normally laid-back post-work Paulista crowd. Americans too wind their way here for obvious reasons. For BarChick though, the lure of burgers, booze and potential new buddies was enough to get her here.
