Every Vancouverite knows about the Narrow Lounge in Mount Pleasant, but if you're from out of town you'd be hard pressed to find it. There’s no signage or marketing for this small hangout, just a red light out front to tell you they’re serving. We like their style.

As the name suggests, the Narrow Lounge is small and quaint, so be prepared to get intimate with your neighbour (more than likely a Vancouver hipster). Hidden down some dark stairs, the sexy red walls, antique chandeliers and eclectic décor is kinda retro glam with a junk shop vibe.

With delicious pub food (order a Baked Guinness Mac & Cheese), craft beers on tap, cocktails and a sizeable selection of whiskeys, you can get stuck in for a good session here amidst the shabby taxidermy. Better still, during the summer, the Narrow grows to include The Hideaway; an awesome tiki bar on the back patio, serving up summer-tiki themed cocktails from 3pm to 10pm. Yes please.
