Another all-day drinking spot, Bar Italia is on Vienna's version of 5th Avenue, Mariahilfer Straße and the guests are just as stylish as their fancy shopping bags. It's a small bar, with a high ceiling, dark wooden floors and red glowing wall panels, complete with friendly staff and a lively atmosphere.

It's the kind of place you'd pop into for a quick fresh juice or espresso before going back to buy that dress you know you can't afford, until the sun goes down that is, when the hidden bar downstairs swings open its curtain and the DJ hits the decks (Wed - Sat nights). Downstairs it's sexy and fun, with corners for hiding in when you've finished dancing. Knock back an Italian micro-brew or a well-made cocktail and get back on the dance floor.

This bar allows smoking, apparently in Vienna if it's under 50m squared they'll let you smoke. Good to know!
