Hard to say but lately it's an Old Fashioned, in particular a vanilla Old Fashioned.
My best bad ass moment had to be on the busiest night of the club I was working for at the time. Let me explain - the bar was 6 work-stations long and the customers were standing about 6 or 7 deep at the bar. Waiting for service took about half an hour or more, and all 8 of the bartenders were spinning like tops. Customers were screaming and swearing at us as impatient customers do when waiting too long for drinks. Anyway, I saw this really attractive chick at the bar and we both made eye contact, so I just gave her a pen and paper and told her I wanted her number. She gave it to me and after serving her drinks I climbed onto the bar counter in front of her, she leaned in and we had a good 15 second snog in front of well over a hundred screaming and swearing people - we just didn't care. It was like time stood still and everything went silent, the other barmen couldn't believe what had just happened, then they stared to cheer for me. The customers weren't impressed, neither was my manager. I didn't care though, it was worth it. She kept coming back to me for more drinks...and kisses.
No, unfortunately not. But I have done it with a bar manageress...I don't think that counts though.
New York, New York - to go there is my dream and get some more experience under my belt by working in a really good bar there. Then I'd like to come back home and open a small bar of my own.
To be honest I try not to eavesdrop on peoples conversations, so I don't hear too many. I once heard a bartender say to a girl "how about an Australian kiss, sexy". She asked "what's an Australian kiss?", to which he replied "It's like a French kiss but down under". She laughed and they hooked up.
Somehow I feel that if I told you a secret it kind of won't be a secret anymore?
'The Hula Girl' 40ml Ciroc coconut 4 drops of proper rose syrup 37.5ml coconut milk 12.5ml gomme syrup 2 dashes chocolate bitters 15ml vanilla liqueur Method: Shake all the ingredients together and fine strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a lightly seared marshmallow and a sprinkle of toasted dessicated coconut.
Always vodka, always dry and always stirred. Sometimes dirty with loads of olives, or sometimes with a twist.
