Cocktails To Make For Mother's Day

These drinks are mum-deniably delicious

Hosting a Mother's Day brunch? Treating your queen to breakfast in bed? We've got a motherlode of next-level cocktail recipes to whip up for Mothering Sunday - or any day you wanna show your mum some boozy love.

Perfect Lady

A drink with a name worthy of the perfect lady in your life, this one's perfect if your mum likes things a little peachy.

  • 50ml gin (check out some of our faves here)
  • 25ml lemon juice
  • 25ml peach liqueur
  • 1 egg white

Add all ingredients to a shaker and shake without ice (this is called a dry shake, and it helps the egg white get its froth on). Add ice and shake again. Strain and serve.

Mai Tai

Don't have the funds to send her on the beach holiday she deserves? Get some rum-ma in your mumma instead! There's no better drink for the job than this tiki classic, which does it BIG with two types of rum.

  • 45ml white rum
  • 25ml orange liqueur
  • 25ml lime juice
  • 15ml orgeat
  • 15ml dark rum
  • Pineapple wedge and cocktail cherry, for garnish

Combine the first four ingredients in an ice-filled shaker. Shake what ya mama gave you and strain into a rocks glass with ice. Float the dark rum on top and garnish that bad boy.

Clover Leaf

For a taste of the English countryside, this recipe from the legends at Cotswolds Distillery is the one - it's a riff on the classic Clover Club, with an extra zing from lime juice and fresh mint.

  • 50ml Cotswolds Dry Gin
  • 15ml lime juice
  • 12.5ml raspberry syrup
  • 5 raspberries, plus more for garnish
  • 2 mint leaves
  • 1 egg white

Muddle the raspberries and mint, then shake all ingredients over ice and strain back into shaker. Dry shake and fine strain into a chilled Martini glass. Garnish with the remaining raspberries.

Nutty Old Fashioned

If your mum's a whisky lover, she'll go nuts for this bad boy made with blended Scotch Noble Rebel

  • 50ml Noble Rebel Hazelnut Harmony Scotch Whisky
  • 1 demerara sugar cube
  • 3 dashes walnut bitters
  • 1 whole walnut, for garnish

Combine the sugar and bitters in a rocks glass, then add a splash of warm water and stir until the sugar is nearly dissolved. Add a large ice cube to the glass, followed by the whisky, and gently stir to combine. Garnish with the walnut.

Garibaldi

There's a secret to making a perfect Garibaldi, AKA the best brunch cocktail in the game (sorry, Buck's Fizz fans). Lucky for you, we're spillin' the tea so you can mix one up for mum...

  • 45ml red bitter liqueur (Campari is the classic, but Savoia also bangs)
  • 120ml orange juice (it's gotta be freshly squeezed!)
  • Orange wedge, for garnish

Add the orange juice to a blender and give it a whizz - this is key, 'cos it makes the OJ fluffy AF. Add the red bitter to a glass over ice, then pour the OJ over and garnish.

Champagne Cocktail

Your mum's got main character energy, and so does this mega-luxurious serve - it's a perfect match, no?

  • 1 sugar cube
  • Few dashes Angostura Bitters
  • 30ml Cognac
  • Champagne
  • Orange twist, for garnish

Place the sugar cube on a plate and soak with the bitters, then add the cube to a Champagne flute. Pour in the Cognac, then top up with Champagne. Express the orange twist over the drink and use it as garnish.
